This workshop is all about managing physical pain and Tension through myo-fascial and muscular release . I teach this using a product called “Te Wete”, a cork ball release tool. “Wete” is a Maori word which translates to “untie, unravel, set free, detach, disconnect and loosen”. Te Wete was developed through my passion for wanting others to have the knowledge and ability to release physical and emotional pain with ease, anytime and anywhere.
Living a good life requires a good functioning body that can move well. because not being able to move is demobilising, painful, restricting and unhealthy. We all accumulate tension and different areas of tightness within our bodies. Whether it’s from training hard, sitting at a desk or doing manual work. When you accumulate tension throughout your muscular and fascial networks it creates imbalances within your body. These imbalances are expressed by instability, movement dysfunction, pain and compression. This restricts your speed, power, endurance, flexibility, recovery and healing ability. It is important to release the tension within your body correctly, because trying to fix an imbalance or instability without releasing the cause of the problem can create more tension and lead to even more pain and dysfunction.
Part of this workshop also delves into the importance of optimal posture, as muscular and fascial tension leads to postural dysfunction. Being unaware of your posture can have severe negative impacts on the way you move and feel. A dysfunctional posture will consistently cause injuries, pain, disc compression, joint instability, circulation restrictions and general discomfort. In this workshop you will learn what your deep frontal fascial line is and how to stimulate it. The deep frontal fascial line is a network of muscles that work in unity together and are what forms your base stability. This fascial line becomes very dysfunctional within many of us, simply from the way we use our bodies.
The body is memory substance and adjusts to whatever you are consistently doing with it (training, sitting, standing, building, surfing, etc). This means that it adapts to poor posture and essentially gets good at it by shortening and lengthening specific muscle groups and fascial lines to become more economical and efficient in the movements you do. At this workshop you will learn to effectively manage your posture and fascial tension by using Te Wete in your own time, giving you control of your recovery, injury prevention and subconscious stability.
In this practical and straightforward workshop, you will learn how to do your own myofascial and trigger point release work with Te Wete in a highly effective way. You will also learn how to change the temperament of the release you are doing so you can enjoy the release work and do it frequently.
This workshop will cover the systems of the body (muscular, fascial, vascular, skeletal, lymphatic, nervous, digestive, endocrine and emotional) and how they interrelate and impact each other. You will learn how to use Te Wete to assist these systems to work optimally, which is so much easier when you have a clear understanding about these systems and their processes.
I will also teach you how to identify what nervous system you are operating in and how to consciously promote your parasympathetic nervous system so you can get maximum results when using Te Wete. This is a skill that can also be transferred into everyday living. Whenever you are trying to heal or rest, one of the most important things you need to be aware of is what nervous system you are in. If you are in the stress response/sympathetic nervous system (aka “fight or flight”), healing is not a priority. When you are in your parasympathetic nervous system (when your heart feels safe), your cellular rejuvenating and healing abilities are ignited, and your body can heal effortlessly.
The investment for this workshop is $120. You will receive a Te Wete package that includes the cork ball, hemp blended sock, informational booklet and carry bag to take home (valued at $75). The workshop will go for roughly 4 hours.
